Shake Recipe: Very Berry Healthy Ageing

This is a delicious way to incorporate protein and fibre, important for healthy ageing, into one of your daily meals. Blueberries together with Almased are a great source of antioxidants. Paired together with yogurt is a great way of obtaining your calcium needs, which for women post menopause is essential in boosting bone health.

1 portion contains: 205 kcal - 28 g protein - 1 g fat - 21 g carbohydrates - 8 g fibre

Ingredients (for 1 person)

  • 5 tbsp Almased
  • 350 ml water
  • ½ cup fat-free natural yogurt
  • ½ cup strawberries (fresh or frozen)
  • ¼ cup blueberries (fresh or frozen)

Preparation

  1. Blend together the water, yogurt and berries.
  2. Mix in Almased.
  3. Pour into a glass and enjoy.
  4. Add ice, if desired.
  5. Important: Almased smoothies with fruit in them taste fresh and delicious. However, the fructose contained in the fruit can slow weight loss efforts. We recommend not using any fruit in your smoothies during the Initiation Phase. During this time, the Almased Classic recipe is the perfect shake for you. Once you are in the Reduction Phase and beyond, you can add fruit in moderation, preferably to your breakfast shake.
